Central University of Jharkhand Signs Agreement with Chinese Consulate General on Chinese Language Teachers
Ranchi, March 01, 2016: The Vice Chancellor of the Central University of Jharkhand Prof. Nand Kumar Yadav Índu’, has recently met the Consul General of the People's Republic of China Mr. Ma Zhanwu and signed an Agreement on Provision of Chinese Language Teachers between Hanban, China and Central University of Jharkhand. Dean of School of Languages Dr. Shreya Bhattacharji, Deputy Consul General Zhou Maoyi, Consul Zhang Jing, and Consular Attache Chen Ankai were also present while signing the agreement in Consulate office in Kolkata.
According to the agreement Confucius Institute Headquarters (Hanban) will send a volunteer Chinese teacher to Central University of Jharkhand soon. Consulate is also planning high-level visits between Shanxi and Jharkhand in the near future.
Prof. Yadav thanked Mr. Ma and the Consulate and said CUJ is eagerly waiting for the Chinese teacher and willing to promote China-India cultural and educational exchanges by joining hands with the Chinese Consulate.
The two sides also discussed possibilities to hold a Chinese language competition, Chinese film festival and the “Chinese Day” at CUJ, and to select outstanding students from CUJ to study in China.
